Simple Times & Traditions is a small, independently owned business creating handmade goods, personalized gifts, and meaningful keepsakes in South Dakota.

Our goal is simple: to make products with real character—pieces that feel personal, useful, and worth holding onto.

Made by Hand, Not Mass-Produced

Many of our products begin as rough lumber and are shaped, sanded, finished, and personalized in our own workshop. We believe the natural grain, color, and imperfections of real wood are part of what make each piece special.

No two pieces of wood are exactly alike. Each item may have its own grain pattern, color variation, knots, or other natural characteristics. Rather than seeing those differences as flaws, we believe they give every product its own identity.

Woodworking First

Simple Times & Traditions is built around genuine woodworking and craftsmanship. While laser engraving allows us to add detailed designs and personalization, the heart of our work is still the wood itself.

From handmade hickory cross necklaces and Bible bookmarks to Brew Blocks, bottle openers, wooden coins, keychains, and custom wood blanks, we aim to create products that combine traditional materials with practical, thoughtful designs.

Our Heartland Hickory collection represents that approach especially well. Hickory is strong, durable, and full of natural character, making it a fitting material for products designed to carry meaning and last.

Some are made to celebrate faith. Some are personalized with names, dates, verses, or messages. Others are designed to be useful, memorable gifts or simple everyday items with a little more character than something mass-produced.

Because many of our products are made in-house, we can consider select custom requests, including:
